Casting Crowns - Jesus, Friend of Sinners Review

This is David from Tyde Moore, but I'm sure Tyde Moore's better half, Krista will agree with my review.

This is just one song on The Casting Crowns album, "Come to The Well." I really love this song, and it has a powerful message (as is the norm for Casting Crowns.) One day I hope I can write songs as good as Mark Hall of Casting Crowns! Anyway, Jesus, Friend of Sinners is basically a song about not judging others and how we can turn people away from God by judging. The song reminds us that Jesus had friends that were sinners... It reminds us that we were all sinners, and the only reason we're not still considered sinners is because He gave Himself for us. We weren't born Christians, we decided to accept Him... But before that, we weren't exactly saints. Even after accepting Him we still make many mistakes, so it is not our place to judge others and turn them away from God.

I have heard of people telling others that they were too terrible, God would never accept them. That is awful, and that is a blatant misrepresentation of God's love! God's love is unconditional, to be accepted by Him all we have to do is ask. We aren't better than those who haven't asked yet, we're just blessed enough to have said "Yes to Jesus!" That is the only difference between us and them.

I give this powerful song a 10 out of 10! It was brilliantly written, and passionately performed. If you haven't heard it yet, I recommend it! I haven't been "prompted" to write any reviews in a long time... hopefully something else will want me to write another one again soon.
